Undergraduate Admission Requirements

For admission to the undergraduate program, a student must have:

• A General Education Certificate or its equivalent and
  Passed the Foundation Program (FP) from DU or any other Higher Education Institute (HEI)
  recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation (MoHERI)
• أو be exempted from FP English, Mathematics, and Information Technology (IT) courses
  based on placement tests conducted by FP.

Based on the results of the English, Mathematics, and IT placement tests, students who need remedial work based on placement test results, will join the FP, where three levels of English and two levels of Mathematics courses, as well as IT courses, must be successfully completed with a minimum grade of 50 to proceed to the first year of the Bachelor program.
FP course exemption criterion minimum scores are as follows:

• 1) English:
  • IELTS Band – 5
  • TOEFL – 500
  • CEPT – 50
• 2) Mathematics:
  • Moodle-based Math Placement Test – 60
• 3) Information Technology:
  • Moodle-based IT Placement Test – 70
  • International (English) IC3 certificate

For admission to any of the undergraduate programs offered by the CE, a student must have:

• Passed FP from DU or any other HEI recognized by MoHERI

To graduate with a Bachelor’s degree from this program, students must complete the required credit hours with a minimum overall average of 65 percent.

The BS in Interior Architecture Engineering requires 137 credit hours. The fee is 70 OMR per credit hour.

• Bachelors: 4 years

To graduate with a Bachelor Degree in Interior Architecture Engineering, students must satisfactorily complete 137 credits taken over eleven semesters within four academic years, with an overall minimum average of 65 percent, and a cumulative average of 70 percent in the major courses.

The medium of instruction for all programs in College of Engineering at Dhofar University is English.
