The Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering (DECE) program was established in 2005 to address the growing demand for technically skilled professionals and to equip students with fundamental knowledge and practical skills in electrical and computer engineering fields The program also serves the community by providing accessible, high-quality technical education to students from diverse regions within Dhofar University.<\/p>\n

The Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering provides a strong foundation in the basic principles of electrical circuits, electronics, computer systems, and communication technologies. The curriculum focuses on core areas such as electrical circuits, digital electronics, microprocessors, and computer programming, combining theoretical understanding with hands-on training through laboratories and practical sessions.<\/p>\n

The program places a strong emphasis on skill development and employability. Students gain practical exposure through laboratory work and industry-oriented training, enabling them to develop the technical competencies required in real-world engineering environments.<\/p>\n

Aligned with industry needs, the diploma prepares graduates for entry-level positions in sectors such as electrical maintenance, power systems support, computer hardware, networking, and technical services. It also provides a pathway for further studies in electrical, electronics, and computer engineering programs.<\/p>\n

Admission Requirement <\/span><\/i><\/a><\/h4><\/div>

For admission to the program, a student must have:<\/p>\n

  1. A General Education Diploma (or its equivalent), including Pure Mathematics and at least two of the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, or Biology, and<\/li>\n
  2. Passed the Foundation Program (FP) at Dhofar University (DU) or any other Higher Education Institution (HEI) recognized by the Ministry of Education.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>

    To graduate with a Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering, students must complete the required credit hours for the program and achieve a minimum cumulative average of 65%.<\/p>\n
